The decoys have very nice details and are made of strong polyethylene plastic. These are foam-filled, which ensures shape and flotation, even in hard use.

The long-tailed duck is a small diving duck of approximately 43 cm in length. It has mostly a light body colour and dark wings. The spring colours are brighter in winter than in the summer. The male has extended tail feathers and can therefore measure up to 60 cm from the beak tip to the tip of the tail.

The long-tailed duck is the only duck changing its feather trim three times a year. The adult males show an extra alternative feather in the winter.
