NOTE – There are several different kinds of tar on the market. Some tars are extracted from pine trees or other hardwoods. A undiluted tar has a very long drying time and will be sticky in 1-6 weeks depending on the type of wood, and the absorbency of the wood. Some tars are also diluted with chemicals such as turpentine, kerosene or linseed oil. It is not environmentally friendly and dilute the tar will be quickly absorbed by the tree and the drying time is reduced significantly 1-2 days.<\/p>\n
Tests shows that a natural undiluted tar produced from beech trees has the best attractant effect on wild boars. Other tar products can obviously be used – but the do not nearly have the same long-lasting effect.<\/p>\n
